Crank no start Code U1601 ECM issues

A few days ago, the truck stalled and died on me at a red light.

Ever since then, it has done an intermittent crank with no start, but it usually started if you left it alone for 30 minutes or so; fast forward to yesterday, I turned the truck on, and it ran for a few seconds and died, I cranked it again, it started, but it would rev up and down on its own like it was starving for fuel.

It threw a P0193 (FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR VOLTAGE TOO HIGH), P0341 (CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR SIGNAL), and P0607 (ECM INTERNAL PERFORMANCE) after cranking some more.

Lastly, it threw a U1601 (ECU APPLICATION SOFTWARE CODE 1 MISSING OR CORRUPTED).

I am running custom tunes with an MM3 Device and reached out and got a recovery file to try to flash the computer back to stock, but every time, it fails to write the ECM.

The truck just got a new fuel pump today, and no luck, just cranks and cranks, but it never fires.

I am pretty stuck at this point; I've disconnected both batteries for hours to try to reset the PCM, but no luck; any advice would be appreciated!

I bet it’s your camshaft position sensor.

When they go out, it throws other sensors out of whack!

I replaced the camshaft sensor, and no luck.

ECM seems to not be sending any signals.

What are you seeing for voltage on both batteries individually?

Both batteries, after being disconnected for hours, read around 12.5v each.

See the attached information on the U1601 trouble code.

Check with the recovery file provider to make sure it’s the correct one.

If correct, try to clear the codes and flash your tunes again with a battery tender hooked up.

I tried that with no luck, thinking I might need a new ecm; I found a local company for a $530 plug-and-play remanufactured unit.

It sounds like that will be the best option and a very reasonable price.

    Please keep us posted.
