    Metal In Oil?

    2021, HO 6.7L with 34k miles.

I changed the oil and dumped the filter oil into my pan.

After pouring the oil off, I noticed these metal pieces in the pan.

    Is this normal?

    It runs fine.

The last oil analysis showed normal wear metals.

I'll send this off, too; I'm curious if it may have come from the oil filter.

It looks like copper and silver pieces. It was only at the very bottom after draining the oil.

Sorry, it’s been a while; I got the oil analysis back from Blackstone, and they reported average amounts of wear metals at a 7500-mile oil change interval.

Nothing out of the norm per their report, and said the engine appears to be wearing in nicely.

I’ll triple-check the drain pan for cleanliness next time!

I’m about 3,000 miles into this oil, and I will drain and inspect it and the filter again today.

Valvoline has to buy one get one 50% off on all oil right now, by the way!

    I will report back.

Please, God, don’t let it be lifter failure/cam wear.

    Yep!

It’s when you order straight from the Valvoline website.

And it’s free shipping cause I’m guessing you will at least buy 3-4 gallons.
