Red Tab On Fuel Line Connector Broke

The little red tab on the fuel line connector that goes into the front fuel filter broke.

    How important is that thing?

Like, can I drive to the dealership and get one, or should I park it?

Installing the BMP CAT fuel filters and those tabs broke with zero effort.

    I believe it’s a locking tab.

When you connect the fuel line, see if it will disconnect by simply pulling on it.

If it’s not leaking and doesn’t disconnect, then you are okay to drive.

If it disconnects but doesn’t leak when connected, you should be able to temporarily hold it in place with some wire or tape.

Well, this plot just got a whole lot thicker.

Do you know the banjo bolt that goes into the CP3?

The one with the full line attached?

    Yeah, it’s gone.

I literally cannot find it anywhere.

I’ve searched my entire engine bay and my tool trays.

I looked at the old filter.

    I’ve looked literally everywhere.

    I cannot find the thing.

All I did was move it off to the side.

Edit: OMG. I went back in there with a little mirror, and it was somehow jammed so far off to the left and wasn’t visible.

I had to use a flashlight and a mirror even to see it.

My head is pounding, and I shouldn’t have used a legitimate sick day to do this.

Well, it has to be there somewhere.

Maybe it got hung up on the frame or rolled away.

If you can't find it, you must call the dealership for availability.

Edit: I'm glad you found it.
