The subject vehicle is a 2008 RAM 3500 4X4, 37" tires, 4.88 gears, tuned/ deleted.
Freshly installed transmission couldn't find 6th gear.
Removed and returned to them, they found the stator locked in the torque converter.
All their comments said were "very odd."
I reinstalled the reworked unit and now has 6th, but the lockup appears odd.
On normal going through the gears like entering the freeway, it shows hitting 6th on the scan tool, then when what I assume is lockup happens, it goes into lock up, then out of lock up one time, and back in.
This is on the flat, w/ unloaded vehicle.
RevMax initial word is, "They will lock and unlock under normal factory lockup schedules, which is what we do require.
With a triple disc, it feels more like an OEM setup."
The truck had a BD performance build that the input shaft took a dump.
It seemed to hold lockup consistently without coming in and out like the RevMax.
Those of you with the RevMax, does yours do this?
Should it go out of lockup after 6th gear one time and settle in?
It seems like it will be hard on the converter's longevity and fuel economy.
What say you?
I am supposed to send them scanner movies, which I will. Its hard to communicate since all tech support is email only.
I wanted to hear from those who own one of these units.
Lock up typically disengages under load, but this one also seems spring-loaded in the unlock mood.
