I'm not sure how many are on them; I think I've had them for more than a year, though maybe not.
I might have to look at another brand if these barely held up.

Is there any way to tell if the fronts are bad too?
I got them all at the same time IIRC.

Once they start to leak, they're pretty much shot.
Judging by the fact that the witness line is as far down the shaft unless you've been hammering on it lately, it's probably time for a refresh on all four corners.

You're complaining of premature shock failure of what is a pretty decent shock so I have to ask how you are using the truck lots of gravel roads potholes that kind of thing?

Looking at all the oil, it looks like the seals are broken.
Basically, your shocks are shot and need to be replaced.

The truck is mainly a highway driver and boat puller.
I seldom go off-road, potholes, gravel roads, etc.
The only thing I can think of is there are some pretty hefty bumps now and then when towing.
Do you have any suggestions for reasonable equivalent replacements that won't break the bank?
Is it lifted?

You may want to look at the Bilstein 5100’s or 4600’s as replacements.
The witness indicators down the shaft are likely due to the fluid leaking and lack of damping.

Yes, 4" Pro Comp lift.
I wondered if you're bottoming out on the shock due to not dropping the bump stops and not using a complete travel shock.
That will kill a shock of any brand in a hurry
