    Re: Code: P2281?

Well, fingers crossed that the problem is solved.

I unplugged the MAF sensor and plugged it back in, ensuring it was all the way.

I had everything unplugged for over a week while installing, so maybe something got on the plug, and it wasn’t reading correctly.

I had it unplugged before to pull the filter out to get a better view of the turbo when I was trying to figure out the problem.

I thought I had plugged it back in fully, but who knows what happened.

I cleared the code and took the truck on a long drive, and the code has yet to come back.

    Re: Code: P2281?

So, here is an update on the issues I was having.

I haven’t posted anything because I’ve just been trying to figure out what’s happening.

I ended up taking the truck into a diesel performance shop to have it looked at because it kept throwing the code after I thought I had it fixed.

After they did some testing and talking to DDP, they said that with the combination of the DDP turbo and my cold air intake, intake horn, and grid heater delete, the truck is seeing enough airflow that without being tuned, it keeps throwing that code.

I guess I didn’t do my homework well enough.

So, I am having them delete the truck.

They’re giving me what I feel is an excellent deal on a tuning package.

I have a good friend who works there and has nothing but good to say about them, so I trust that the tuning will be OK.

Also, would someone be able to point me toward the trans-learning procedure?

I know I’ve seen it on here in the past, but I’m not sure where.

Begin the initial drive learn cycle for the transmission relearn.

You must keep the throttle below 50% at all times during this cycle, do not use tow/haul or exhaust brake.

Drive the vehicle for a MINIMUM of 3 days.

The truck must be allowed to rest overnight and go from HOT to the COLD engine and transmission temperatures.

During this time period, it is best to have a MINIMUM of 200 miles of STOP AND GO driving.

Highway driving does not count and will not drive learn the transmission.

So as long as I don’t go over 55 and take roads with the occasional stop sign, I should be good?

Also, does it matter if I rack up most of the miles in one day, as long as I get it up to temperature and then allow it to cool back down for three days in a row?

    Keep the throttle below 50%.

Stop and go driving, allowing the transmission to upshift and downshift through the gears.

You should spread the miles over the “minimum” three-day period, allowing the transmission to go from hot to cold between the days.

    Re: Code: P2281?

Mitchell Pro demands that code for your year and model; this is what shows up as fixes.

Take it with a grain of salt, but it's a good starting point.

Did anything get inside the charge tube?

It will end up in the MAF and can be cleared out with a slight puff of air.

If it is dirty, i.e., oil or brake cleaner,
