Drive pressure, you advance timing and fuel, which creates more power.

Standard head bolts don't have sufficient clamping force for the 150 hp tune or higher.

Sure, you can get by on mild throttle, but you're playing with fire, and it will blow the head gasket sooner rather than later.

Hmm, weird; my custom tuners say the exact opposite.

He's also my installer and said there's no need for studs.

Injectors and stock CP3 are plenty of food for a 200hp tune.

    This is on my 22.

So what you're telling me is new info.

I would strongly recommend a new tuner friend.

Who's the tuner for the '22 model?

    A very good one.

I also had good tuning on my 18; there was never one issue.

I was under the impression good tuning involves someone capable of maintaining low drive pressures, correct timing but good clean horsepower, and trans tuning.

Thats why 150-180-200 hp tunes work.

It's not like how Edge used to do things or backyard CCS and Optimal Welding tunes.

We recommend that if you plan to have power increases above the 120HP mark, you install a set of quality head studs into your 6.7L Cummins to help prevent the possibility of a blown head gasket due to increased cylinder pressures with those tunes.

I better get to studding then.
