Thread: Codes P1193 & P2228 After Deleting?

    Codes P1193 & P2228 After Deleting?

I recently deleted my 2020 RAM and have some shifting/idling issues.

After contacting the tuning company, they said, “Reconnect the barometric pressure sensor/inlet air temp sensor.

    They are unplugged.

ECM has codes P1193 and P2228.

I am not exactly sure where these sensors are located and can’t seem to find anything online.

    Please help!

I appreciate any help you can provide.

The P2228 code is for the manifold “Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor” (MAP), located on the intake horn on the driver's side of the engine.

This sensor is on the firewall side of the intake horn.

The P1193 code is for the Inlet Air Temperature sensor (IAT), located on the air intake tube after the air cleaner, and the “Mass Air Flow” (MAF) sensor.

See the code troubleshooting information attached.

    Thanks, Bob.

I went and checked the truck, and both were plugged in.

I unplugged them and plugged them back in.

My MM3 displayed those codes at the first start-up after deletion but went away at the second start up (about a month ago).

So I figured all was fine.

I’m not sure what else to do at this point.

I was trying to see if my tuner could clean up the files since my truck was shifting and idling rough.

Since both sensors share the same 5V reference and ground circuits, that would be the best troubleshooting place.

Check the wiring harness and connectors for any signs of damage.

Check the 5V reference and ground by back-probing with both sensors plugged in.

One of the sensors may also be bad, causing the conditions outlined in the “possible causes” previously attached.
