Program Smart Key Remote With AlfaOBD (RAM)

So, I researched and found videos of people programming 2019+ RAM 2500-5500 trucks with the Autel KM100 using a bypass cable.

I purchased one on sale from LocksmithKeyless.com for $385 shipped.

It arrived today, and after quickly figuring out what to do, I programmed a new key fob in about 5 minutes.

The cost is the same as what a mobile locksmith quoted me.

All I need now is to get the mechanical key cut.

I'm ordering another fob and will post a video tutorial.

I then connected my MX+ and enabled remote start (which I hadn't turned on before).

The button works, and the horn honks, but the truck doesn't start.

From what I've read, I need to drive the truck a couple of miles so it can reset and work.

If not, I'll keep troubleshooting.

*Update* I took my truck for a drive today, got it washed, then grabbed a bite to eat, covering about 15 miles, more or less.

When I got home, I tried the remote start on my fob, and it worked.

I'm happy about this, especially with winter coming, as it means I'll be better prepared when heading home from work.

All in all, the Autel KM100 proved to be a worthwhile investment.

I have a few friends who are looking to do the same, so now I can help them out as well.
