They say they like the Valair dual disc so I may go with that.

A couple of mechanics out front said it probably threw out the bearing.

How much does that usually run?

The throwout bearing should be replaced along with the clutch anyway.

Depending on type and quality, the bearing should cost anywhere from $50 to $200.

    Please keep us posted.

I was afraid of that; they must have found metal shavings in the fluid.

An expensive proposition but well worth it in the long run.

    Holes in the trans, apparently.

    Potentially from clutch breaking

My guess is why the previous owner got rid of it at 40k miles.

UPDATE: I got the trans replaced and the clutch replaced.

They offered a new radiator replacement since I was there.

They didn't connect the boot from the throttle body and left me with a code that they told me I just needed the oil filter replaced.

That code disappeared, but my air leak code didn't have to fix my boot.

I got new tires as I recently got a nail since the replacement.

I go to local tire shops, and everyone refuses to replace the tire because it's a C-rated tire for my dually on near-stock rims.

I'm not necessarily stoked with the service, and now I'm suggested by other shops that I need a complete replacement of rims before I can have properly rated E-F tires for my truck.

Most tire shops won’t touch a vehicle that doesn’t have the proper wheels and load-rated tires on them.

    Too much of a liability.

Post a pic of your rig for us.
