5th Gen RAM - Squeaky Belt Fix?

I need to replace the harmonic balance and belt.

    TSB 09-009-21

How do you find the top dead center when replacing the harmonic balancer/crank pulley?

Or do you not need to since it’s now hydraulic lifters?

    Please help!

    Thanks.

You don’t need to put the engine at the top dead.

Try a belt and tensioner first.

I haven’t had a single one need a balancer yet.

I’ve done 3 belts and 2 tensioners in 32,000 miles.

    Didn’t work.

Yeah, I’m aware of the TSB just saying I hadn’t seen any that needed the damper yet.

It sounds like yours needs it, though.
