I found this under the starter between the transmission and to engine support bracket.
I don’t remember breaking anything, so I’m unsure where it came from.

Year model and is it deleted etc.
It looks like something that has an “O” ring.

My bad, it's a 2014 6.7L.
Looking at sensors online, it looks like a broken crankcase pressure sensor.
I don't think I broke it, though, so maybe someone before I bought the pickup.
I am looking for other possible sensors on that side of the engine as well.
If that’s what it is, it would seem like you would have a code/ MIL.
Have you scanned it to see if you have any codes?
Maybe the previous owner had replaced it and just left the old one where it landed.

No codes, but the sensor in the valve cover is not broken.
So it could have been a previous sensor that got broken and replaced.
I can’t find any other sensors that look similar.
I wouldn't worry too much if you have no issues with the truck.
There’s no telling how much crap I’ve dropped into the deep depths of the engine bay, never to be seen again, LOL.

Maybe/Maybe not.
What about a broken-off nipple from the bottom of an old CCV filter?
Not sure how they would break it off.
Just a suggestion.
Bingo, I think you got it.
How would they break it off, not pulling it straight up but rocking it sideways?

It’s not a CCV filter nipple.
Too small.
It is a broken crank case pressure sensor.
I don't see anything to gauge its size.
So just going by appearance.
