    ECM Recall Update - 2018 RAM 2500?

The dealer I purchased my truck called me and said I had to bring my truck in for a computer recall.

They want to do something to the computer that will take 1.5 hours.

Not sure I want to take it in since it has been, well, you know.

I have received recalls by mail and tossed them like the track bar I had already replaced before the recall.

Did anyone else get a notice about a recall on the computer?

    I haven't.

Did you check the Mopar site with your VIN?

Wasn't there a potential that the dealer could update the 18-up trucks to make them untunable like the 22s?

I thought that was 19 or 20 and newer.

No. That’s only some 19 and up.

But if the trucks are tuned like OP is hinting at, I don't know why he would even consider taking it in for a reflash.

Dealerships have an open recall list; we call customers occasionally to get open recalls completed.

I know it’s hard to imagine, but most diesel owners don’t delete their trucks and prefer to have recalls done.

I believe you are probably thinking about the 2019-2020 trucks that have the CP4 to CP3 recall done.

They can still be tuned but may need a retune and a recovery file to allow the MM3 to flash the tune.

I checked online, and the only recall is on the drag link.

I posted this also to see if anyone else had the same call.

I will be canceling that appointment for sure.

I do not want them messing around with my truck!

    Thanks for the feedback!!
