Yeah, I crank the RPMs way up and let her eat to stay at about 1200 EGT in 4th gear pulling this kind of load.

I returned yesterday and got a little load since I liked it so much.

Thankfully I haven't had an issue with both trips, but man is that truck loud going up screaming America!

Yeah Clyde isn't too far. Beautiful land as long as you don't get to close to Ashville and the crazies

Alright, let's hear some details on the performance of your new setup.

When do you see boost come on?

What are you making at peak?

2012 Mega Cab Long Box. CCS EFI Live. S475 over BD Screamer. Thuren Fab, Patton Fab, & EMF.

Well, I will say this I watch EGTs more than boost.

I did add an aftermarket boost gauge to read everything correctly.

Boost empty will quickly start at, I would say, 1750 RPMS.

When I was towing heavy, I never laid into her full throttle, aka (pedal to the floor).

I remember looking at the boost gauge several times and seeing about 25 psi on the mountain pass on the 30-hp tune.

Boost is crazy with this setup; when she lights, she lights, and there isn't any smoke.

This turbo, I will say, is light years away from the Smeding s**t also, if I might add.

If you have to put the pedal to the floor while towing, then your doing something wrong.

Stainless Diesel, hands down, with DRD tuning, has impressed me beyond belief.

Really that's awesome and you literally are right down the road. Another member watersupply189 lives by us also. As far as the exhaust brake goes your right it's gone. But you can always add one after the fact and to be honest I thought I would miss it or have to have it towing heavy but I don't. What I have observed towing especially with a G56 transmission is that I don't really use the brakes to much. With the rpm's up the way they are its completely different then let's say a gas truck going down hill were it just wants to run away and pickup speed. Having this cummins/manual transmission combo you have plenty of engine braking available surprisingly without the exhaust brake. So is it nice having it yes absolutely but do I need it or have I been in a situation were I had to have it absolutely not. You got me wondering now how autos perform towing down grades without the exhaust brake with this turbo setup? I guess you could always lockout 6th gear and I amagine it would perform the same?

NOTHING beats a G56 in my opinion. Hardly ever use my brakes.
111k miles on the original brakes with almost 3/4 pads left.
I use my exhaust brake all the time. Helps keep the VGT vanes cleaned out.
