Fuel Cap Leaks - 2017 RAM Cummins 3500?

Has anyone changed to a screw-on fuel cap on a 2017 RAM 3500?

I filled up with fuel and always stopped when it clicked off.

I stopped within one block for lunch on a 96-degree day.

When I returned to my truck, fuel was coming out of my fill neck, I was also backed on a hill, and fuel was to my front bumper, a Mega Cab.

I know my 2006 had a screw-on fuel cap, and I never had this problem with that truck.

    Thanks,
    Tommy

I think the screw-on cap is not allowing your tank to ventilate, causing an expansion inside your tank which can cause the fuel to leak out.

Hi, on my 2017 RAM, I have a rubber plug for a fuel cap, and it is pushing out fuel.

It sounds like your fuel tank vent tube is plugged.

I misread the post thinking you did install a screw cap.

I have the plastic plug that came with my 2016 truck when new with no issues.

As AK Bob stated, your vent tube could be blocked.

I am running an aftermarket aluminum cap held in by an O-ring and friction.

I ran it in 2016 for 100K miles, and it has been on my 2014 since I got it.

    one like this

2014 Ram 2500 CCSB Ram Box Larime
    2011 Ram 5500
    2006 Diesel Jeep Liberty
RIP. 2016 Tradesman 2500 picked up 9/28/16 MM3 DRD Tuning 107K miles wrecked by jeep wrangler.....

Other Toys: 1973 Charger Bougham edition 400 big block 42K original miles
