Air Intake Diverter Valve?

I have my truck (2014 3500) in the shop with the countdown to limp mode message.

The mechanic tells me the air intake diverter valve is out, and the part is back-ordered from factory with no ETA listed.

No one in the country has one in stock.

Might anyone know of a parts house or even junkyard that can ship one out?

Sorry forgot to list part #68137142 AB or AC.

The AC is supposed to have a better servo motor.

Are you sure the diverter valve is causing the countdown to limp mode message?

I understand the diverter valve will only give you a trouble code and an “Active Air Box Service Required-See dealer” message on the dash.

The part number you listed will not cause a limp mode countdown timer.

What DTCS do you have?

So I tried to order the part from Moparpartsgiant.com.

They will let you order it, but when I called, I was informed it was not in stock and had no ETA.

I then called a couple of dealers, and even though two had it in stock, they said it was on "special order" and would not sell it to me.

They are saving for customers coming into the dealer needing this part.

I finally found one on eBay with a one-year warranty, so I ordered one for $300 and was quoted $700 from the shop for use.

DTCS codes for air intake diverter valves are P1478, P1475, and P1474.

Also, P207F for the limp mode countdown.

I was told by the shop that the air intake diverter prevented the system from going into Regen mode and that it then tripped the countdown code.

So frustrating dealing with these emission codes and limp mode warnings; it has ruined two vacations hauling the 5th wheel.

Thank you for all your help; I will drop off the diverter on Monday and hopefully get this over with smoothly.

That is an interesting diagnosis; please keep us posted.

So they are saying the bad air box diverter prevented the Regen, and that caused the NOx conversion rate across the SCR Catalyst to be lower than expected, and that set the P207F code that started the countdown mode.

See the code information attached.

I agree with @watersupply189.

You may want to look into other options in the future.
