    Engine Whine When Revving/Accelerating?

I noticed a weird whining noise today while driving; it almost sounded like a power steering pump.

I will attach a video to this as well.

In the video, I am revving the engine to get it to make the noise.

Hard to tell, but it sounds like the fan clutch is engaging.

Can you monitor the fan speed on your MM3 or scan tool, or have someone watch the fan?

That sounds like a fan clutch engaged.

I monitored my fan's speed; it was my fan clutch.

Does anyone know why it's been engaging?

It was engaged for my whole ride home yesterday for 10-15 minutes at highway speed.

I replaced my fan clutch, and nothing changed.

Could check fuses, wiring, or could be tuning related.

    See the troubleshooting information attached.

Having the AC on will also command the fan to engage.

What was your ambient outside temperature like?

    Has it been hot?

It could also be your coolant temperature sensor.

You could check your coolant temperature gauge or PID to see if the sensor reports correctly.

See attached; I can also attach the full fan clutch circuit wiring diagram for my 2014 3500 if it will help to troubleshoot.
