I like how the filter is right up on the engine but out of the way.

If you change both filters, it takes 13 1/2 quarts of oil to fill.

I saw a guy with the filter under the front bumper get in a little fender bender; it jarred it just enough that the filter seal started leaking; he didn't make it home.

I'm not slamming that filter location; just saying I like mine up under the hood.

The reason I went with the one I have is if you have dual alternators that sinister kit doesn't work.

I had duals on my 22 traded the 22 in for my 21 and just moved it over.

Worst case scenario you just carry a cap with you and unscrew the bypass line and cap it.

    Thanks, man.

    I appreciate the feedback.

I am told that Sinister makes a nice-looking kit, and most of their stuff has a lifetime warranty.

By the way, the only thing that sketches me out is having that filter down low because I live in the mountains, and I always run over gravel roads and tree limbs.

Very good point on the dual alternators.

Re: Sinister Diesel Bypass Oil Filter System?

Question for you all on oil capacity.

So I got my Amsoil bypass installed the other day and could only idle it for 15 minutes or so due to my turbo issue.

I have only added half a quart and am still at the top of the fill line.

I am using the 90 filters.

I don't want to overfill it at all.

So I am curious about what everyone's dipstick reads and whether I should add a whole quart.

I would go with the dipstick reading.

I also run the EABP90 filter; when I change oil and filters, I add three gallons of new oil and add enough to get me to the full mark.

This is usually between 1/2 and 1 quart.

    Ok, thanks.

I am currently at about 12.5 quarts and sitting at the top of the fill line, so it's good then.

I honestly thought it would take more with that filter being so big.

I filled the 90 filters with oil before putting it on the truck, and I didn't take more than a half quart.

I got my new turbo coming in tomorrow, so hopefully, I will have a review on the new stainless S467.7.
