    Moog Part Wrong?

I have a 2014 RAM 2500 and am about to replace the right front axle outer u-joint.

I have a Moog u-joint, part 291, that I have used to replace the other side in the past.

I opened up the box, and this particular Moog u-joint had 358F MG 12 stamped on the center of it.

I am not sure if this is the right joint because I haven't taken the front end apart yet, and I would rather not until I'm sure I have the correct part.

I just wanted to check and see if anyone could confirm anything for me.

    Thank you!

If you look up the specifications for the 291 and the 358 in the link below, they are different dimensions.

    Maybe I'm just overthinking it?

If I look at the same part I've purchased before labeled Moog 291 on Amazon, it has the same different numbered stamp on it. (Screenshot included)

Perhaps the stamp on the joint doesn't indicate the part number at all?

I am pretty positive you, Bob, gave me the 291 part number some time ago.

Yes, my research shows that you need the Moog 291 not sure why they have the 358 number stamped in the center.

I have not had good luck with any Moog parts, not just my RAM.

They never seem to fit right.

I got my new U-joints from Torque King.

    They are original aam.

Unfortunately, I have to replace the entire axle similar to the other side.

The U-joint isn't coming out, and I've bent the frame on my 20-ton press.

This is what happened when I tried to press out my u-joint.

    Yes, the C-clips are removed.

It looks like you broke the press; good thing no one was injured.

A split V block set up to support the bottom of the yoke rather than spanning the assembly between the two parallel beams may have worked better so the shaft assembly wouldn’t try to flex.
