RAM 2500 Valve Body Upgrade Advice?

I am looking for some advice.

I have a 2014 RAM 2500, no emissions, stock tune, with 111k on the truck.

More of a daily driver, with occasional 9k RV short hauls.

About to do the first fluid change and have a new deep pan and thermal bypass, I ordered a Revmax Valve body and solenoid pack to improve the longevity of the 68RFE.

I haven't had any trans issues or codes; just trying to improve the stock trans. I was considering upping the line pressure for better shifting etc.

Based on my current mileage, I called Revmax for advice on whether to tune it.

They cannot provide advice over the phone, which is understandable; they did say to inspect the pan for any clutch breakdown, etc.; if there is any, they don't even recommend installing the Valve Body.

So now I'm curious about what to do.

I'm not trying to add power; I want to improve the drive/shift experience and longevity of the stock trans.

I'll drop the pan and inspect for any damage.

Any advice on what exactly I should be looking for?

Excess gray matter, mushroom on the mag plug, etc.?

If all looks good, should I proceed with the VB upgrade/ line pressure increase?

I know a lot of questions with general context; I assume someone has been in this situation. Thanks!

Based on what they say, I'd install the VB if there isn't a massive pile of clutch material on your magnetic plug.

When you drop the pan, you'll know if it's normal.

A little bit on the plug is okay/average, and huge gobs are not.

On a side note, I just did their VB and pan on my rig; liking it so far more I drive it, the better it gets.

    Thanks, Indy.

Did you mess with the LP?

I agree; you'll know when you drop the pan.

Look for particles, but if you've been slipping, you'll smell it.

I have their billet VB and have no complaints about it.

I would up your LP for sure, just don't get carried away.

This is the safest and simplest way, IMO.

It still maintains a smooth but firm shift.

My tuner followed the Revmax email with their specs; they did a little.

The lighting is terrible; I had a bit of smooth gray (anti-seize consistency) build up on the magnet when I pulled the pan.

There were no flakes; the very bottom of the pan had a light coat of gray, fluid was red.

This was the first time the fluid was changed, so almost 10 yrs of build-up (112k miles).

I have the Revmax VB and solenoid pack I planned on installing and am wondering if I should.

Would this be considered excess or average/normal?

Could installing the new VB harm anything?

I planned on upping the line pressure to 185 max instead of 225.

If that truly is the first fluid change in 100k+ miles that tiny amount of clutch material is fantastic.

Put that VB in there and rock and roll.

I did wipe off the bottom side (top) of the magnet that is clean to show thickness, probably should have mentioned that but still good you think?
