If a battery charger was not used while flashing, you very well could have a corrupted flash.

Even the slightest lack of voltage can throw the whole process off.

I personally didn't use a charger at first and I forget what my symptoms we're, but I used a charger up "driver side battery" perform the steps as it told me, and the truck had a whole different attitude.

You could also have a corrupted file transfer from P.C to SD

I do agree with IGOTAC with being more of a lousy tune job.

There's only one man to trust with a Cummins around here.

This is not a sales pitch either, but DRD is the way to go.

Chargers hooked to both brand-new new Interstate Batteries.

Guess I need to Speak with the man himself.

All in all, to spend $$$ on another tune and no guarantee that it will be my problem solver.

Please don’t take this as anything more than me blowing 10k on my truck in the past year and a half and it running like ?**+.

I keep telling myself it’s cheaper than buying a new one, but not for long.

    I will reach out.

    Fingers crossed, everyone is right.

    Thank you again,
    MikeAce

If it makes any difference, I went through 2 different tuners and had horrible luck.

Efi guys had a good sales pitch, but that's all those backdoor tuners care about.

I think I paid $1200 or $1500 with the auto cal and was irritated once I asked on here when I first joined here what the cause could be.

Sure enough, I got ahold of the Doc, $2500 later for the whole package he offers, loaded it up, and every symptom I had was gone.

The power difference was nuts, and the craziest part is he provides protection on your motor vs. other people out there with super hot tunes where you can melt pistons and so on.

You'll poop glitter when or if you go with his tunes.

I, too, spent 10 to 15k last year trying to get your rig to meet your expectations, so I completely understand where you're coming from.

Corkey, mind if I ask what made you go to a Second Gen swap?

    Do you tow heavy?

Also, what symptoms were you experiencing?

I am still over here pooping glitter with his tunes.

With the 2nd Gen swap and DRD tuning, my biggest problem is trying to stay outta the throttle.

    I won't speak for Corkey.

I will give you a couple of reasons why I did a 2nd Gen swap.

    First and foremost, RELIABILITY.

It's a very reliable setup going with a fixed vain style turbo.

You have no actuator failing to worry about possible coolant leak issues.

It's a straightforward and very powerful setup.

You have a basic turbo with an oil feed line and oil drain line; that's it.

Also, you can open up the number 5 and 6 exhaust ports for better flow and lower EGTs.

You will also reduce drive pressure from a VGT to a fixed vein, helping your head gasket.

Then down the line, depending on what size turbo you choose, you can throw more fuel at it and make significant, reliable power.

Last but not least, the sound, you will sound like a Peterbilt.

Remember, there is a reason why the old 2nd Gen 5.9s ran forever.

For one, they had a great motor, but it was also mainly free from all the emissions and wonderful failure-prone electronics we have today.

I spoke with the guys at DRD, and Ray thinks it’s a PCM issue.

    Does anyone know where I can find a good PCM for a 2014 RAM 3500 4x4 68RFE?

    Thank you,
    MikeAce

Please send me your VIN to ensure it's the same part number.

I have a new unprogrammed PCM I'll let go for fairly cheap.

Unfortunately, that PCM is the wrong year, but thank you for contacting me.

If anyone else knows where I might find a good PCM.

    Please let me know.

I am a little Leary about just getting a refurbished one from eBay.

    Thank you
