New Here - And New (To Me) Truck Coming Soon!

I looked at a 2009 Mega Cab G56 truck on my way out of town for a business trip this weekend and am arranging to pick it up at the end of this week.

The 6.7 is currently deleted and has a delete tune (not sure done by whom), but it does run well.

I have been looking for a clean mega cab for a while and wanted to move up to the 6.7L and sell my older second-generation stuff.

I found this site researching tuning options, and although I think I know which direction I want to go, I will still rely heavily on advice from all here.

I would like to eventually put compounds on it, followed by an improved lift pump, a dual CP3 kit, and bigger injectors so I can set it up rowdy and still turn it down for towing or when the wife is driving it.

Also probably going to do a long bed dually conversion on it.

I am looking forward to learning from you all.

    Welcome to the family, bud!

You planted your feet in the right spot for the information you seek.

    Hopefully, it has an MM3.

    It'll prolong your motor.

What hp goals are you seeking?

Have you considered a bigger single CP3?

10M fits a lot of members.

Anything more significant, you'll toast a 68RFE quickly.

Glad to have you with us!

Not sure what it has for tuning; still trying to find that out.

I know it is a delete tune with (around driveability and a slight bump in power), according to the guy that deleted it.

Not sure if he truly forgot or is playing a little coy.

I would love to think I could have 7-800 hp set on "kill" with the right amount of fuel on (2nd gen conversion style) compounds and turn it down to 4-500 with nice low EGTs while towing and use of water/meth injection if necessary.

I realize this will also mean a good set of head studs and springs.

If MM3 is the most versatile tuning, then that is what it will get.

A 12V tune for cruising around sometimes would sound cool but not necessary.

The fact that I don't know what it is tuned with was one of my major concerns; I didn't want to pick it up and have major issues getting it tuned.

I did think about a bigger single CP3, but I figured duals would give me some redundancy if one went down.

I could be convinced if you all think a bigger single is superior.

And I don't have to worry about the transmission, just a good clutch, as it's a G56.

Welcome, and glad to have you here!

You will need to update that clutch unless it’s already been updated.

Throw some pics up when you get the chance.

    Pictures, or it didn't happen.

Ha ha glad you are here and glad we have another G56 to the family.

Get a good old South Bend dual disk 3250, and you will be set.

My South Bend was a little tough at first, but now that I have a few thousand miles on it, I couldn't be happier.

Also, the 2nd Gen swap with a manual is music to my ears.
