    2014 RAM 2500 - Help! Engine Issue?

    Good afternoon.

I recently changed the oil and fuel filters on my 2014 RAM 2500.

Today, I discovered an issue I hope you can help me with.

As I accelerate and approach 25 to 30 miles an hour, a truck starts to get slightly louder; the accelerator loses almost all authority, and I initially notice black and white smoke coming out of the exhaust.

If I let the accelerator out completely, I can get that authority back.

Still, as I get higher in speed approaching 45 to 50 miles an hour, and continue to try to accelerate at any rate, the truck starts to chug and sounds like it’s almost about to die.

I hope somebody can help me understand what is going on!

    Thank you.

Are any codes coming up on the tuner or scan tool?

Check the voltage on both batteries; if one is bad, get two new ones.

How long has it been since you have checked fuel filters?

Also, how many miles are on it?

    White smoke?

Not a head gasket issue, is it?

What trans, and are you tuned?

Take your fuel filters off and reinstall them.

If that doesn't solve the issue, I would try new ones again.

It sounds like the problem started after changing filters.
