8'' Suspension By BDS Steering Advice?

I have a 2018 RAM CCSB 2500 and have had a BDS 8'' suspension lift for some time now.

I worked at a dealer, and they put it in a showroom truck; then, it was too high to sell, so they took it out, and I got it.

I have been thinking about it for some time and think I'm ready.

I just got my AMP research XL steps on.

    I plan on running a 40x13.5x18 with a 1'' spacer.

My concern is the steering i don't feel the factory drag link and tie rods are up to the task.

It's either synergy adjustable OR BK Fabworks.

I like the latter, which is a heim-style conversion.

Has anyone used this i know you have to drill the tapered tie rod holes as well at the pitmen arm; that scares me if it doesn't hold; I can't go back easy anyhow.

Also, anyone use ball joint delete kits.

I have dor heim joint steering on mine.

I will return it to OEM drag link and tie rod steering when I have time to replace the knuckles.

The heims are noisy, and no matter what brand I use, they develop play after about a year or around 20k miles, give or take.

The track bar is a bigger issue than the drag link and tie rods.

My track bar was bending when turning the wheel.

I picked up a Thuren track bar, which made a big difference.

When I did my 8" BDS lift, I installed a Hell Bent steering gear box stabilizer bar which provides big support for the steering box.

Mine drives straight and easy, but I have noticed it wanders a bit, so I think a ball joint replacement may be in order.

I have 35k miles since the lift so that the ball joints may be wearing a bit.

I am looking at EMF ball joints or a ball joint delete.

Thank you, guys; this is exactly what I want to know.

I can't seem to find any reviews on the BDS 8'' lift from anyone besides the 2 mins after the installation.

I know from installing several different lifts that they usually require extra parts to correct geometry.

Also, I feared the heim steering was a bad idea, and I'm glad i know.

I tow a 30' 7000lbs travel trailer from time to time, and I want actually to be able to hit the highway still.

Another option to fit the 40s that might be more towing-friendly would be AEV fender flairs and a lot of trimming with less lift.

Either way, with the 40s, I would be thinking about hydro or hydro assist steering.

AEV has a fitment kit for a PSC assist that looks pretty good.

I've not personally used it, though.

I have the 8" BDS kit, and for towing, I am using a 14" drop hitch from Bulletproof Hitches, and it works great.

It is rated at 22,000 lbs.

I wish I had more pictures of the BDS 8'' lift on the 40s that are NOT on 22-26'' wheels, LOL.

    I'm torn between 38'' tires and 40''.

I wish I could see it in person.
