Back To A 6.7L Cummins - Needing Advice?

    Hey everyone!

    I’ve been a member here for a few years since I had a 2015 2500 Tradesman.

Somehow, my wife was able to talk me into trading it in for a 1500.

So back in November 2021, I traded it for a 2022 1500 Lone Star edition with the ECO diesel.

Long story short, I have never forgiven her.

I like the truck and the upgraded stuff the lone star has, but I gotta get back in a Cummins.

    I can’t afford a new one, so I’ve been looking at used 4th gens with 100k - 200k miles.

I have never bought a diesel with that many miles and was wondering if all of you could advise on what to look for or be cautious about.

    Any advice is greatly appreciated!

I have a 2016 3500 Laramie with a G56, and no issues besides the common wheel bearing going out.

    It’s been a great truck.

I would look for one that is bone stock and not deleted.

These trucks are pretty hard to hurt in stock configuration.

Purchasing a used truck that is already deleted is a different ball game, depending on how the truck was driven.

I stumbled across a great deal on a 4th Gen at CarMax for what that's worth (or so I think, it's being shipped now).

It was $10k less than anything similar that I could find elsewhere.

My wife has an ECO Diesel Jeep, and a tune transformed it.

Added 3+mpg and made it massively more responsive.

The exhaust brake is also a game changer in the mountains.

Her is fully intact and tuned for 50k miles with no issues.
