    Key Fob/WIN Module Troubleshooting?

Hey all, 2012 RAM 2500 SLT 6.7L Cummins.

A couple of weeks ago, my key fob started intermittently working.

Sometimes it locks; sometimes, it unlocks until it quits; obviously, remote start doesn't work.

The lock button on only the driver's side door also quit working.

I replaced the battery in the fob with no change, and I only have one fob.

I have to lock the doors from the passenger side.

Additionally, before these issues started, when I would stop and remove the key, the truck thought it was still in the ignition, and I had to hit the panel under the switch to get it to recognize that the key wasn't in it.

    I'm thinking WIN module.

    Does anyone have any ideas?

I made an appointment for next week at the dealer to see if they can tell me anything.

    TIA

It could be a module or CAN issue.

A full system scan for trouble codes and bidirectional actuation should narrow it down.

    Please keep us posted.

I went to the dealer today, and of course, they didn't have a record of my appointment last week.

He put the scanner on it and got no codes related to the issue.

They wanted me to leave it, and they could look at it Tuesday; I'll pass.

I am pondering the next steps.

It will be difficult to troubleshoot without any trouble codes or dealership resources.

The issue could be in the remote antenna, remote, RF Hub, or WIN module.

Each of these items would need to be programmed if replaced.

I would either make another appointment with the dealership or give these guys a call or text to see if they can narrow down the cause based on your symptoms.
