BW 44-46 Transfer Case Rear Output Seal?

Ok, I'm looking for whoever has the secrete not to leak out of the rear output shaft on my transfer case.

That seal seems to start leaking after only being there for a few months.

I've replaced it five times since I've had the truck, and it is leaking again.

It's getting really old, having to keep replacing this stupid thing.

Has anyone else had an issue with this?

Are you using OEM seals or an aftermarket?

    I have used both.

The first two times the seal was replaced, the truck was still under warranty, and the dealer did it.

The last three times I have done it.

I dont remember exactly what brand I used, but I'm pretty sure it was an SKF.

It came in a green box, I think.

They will leak if T-case is overfilled.

Check the fluid level before replacing again.

It should be filled like a differential, correct?

    Just below the fill port?

    Correct, see FCA fill instructions:

Transfer Case — If Equipped Drain, And RefillRefer to the “Maintenance Schedule” for the proper maintenance intervals.

Selection of Lubricant Refers to “Fluids, Lubricants, and Genuine Parts” in “Maintaining Your Vehicle” for fluid specifications.

Fluid Level CheckThis fluid level can be checked by removing the filler plug.

The fluid level should be to the bottom edge of the filler plug hole with the vehicle in a level position.
