Thread: Shocks For A Smoother Ride?

Re: Shocks For A Smoother Ride?

Did you do the work yourself?

I have 5100s I am about to put on the front and am curious how much travel a bottle jack will need to get the front end off the ground.

When I installed my Fox 2.0 shock, I didn’t need to jack the truck off the ground.

See my post in the link below.

Yes, you do not need to jack up the truck.

Don't cut the straps until you have one side installed.

For the rear, I think I bolted in the tops, then cut the strap and allowed the shock to extend until the bolt lined up on the axle.

For the front, bolt the bottom in and allow the top to go through the hole in the shock mount, put on the nut, and tighten.

    Really easy.

I'll echo the Thuren posts above.

I didn't want to lift my truck, but a 1" front lift is the lowest for the 2500s.

did plush ride coils up front and mid rates in the rear with their Fox 2.0's rides amazing.

Also, did their track bars front and rear and front sway bar.

    You won't be disappointed.

    That's great to hear!

I've got the same front coils, sway bar, and front track bar coming for my 3500.

I got crazy and sprung for Kings 3.0, so that will be a bit of a wait.

I got some bilsteins to hold me over.

Everything but the Kings should be here Friday just in time for a foot of snow.

I can't get the barn built fast enough!

I’ve got the Thuren 2.0 Fox shocks front and back with Thuren coils, track bar, and sway bar up front.

The rear has factory leaf springs with Sulastic shackles.

The ride is about as good as I can get on pavement without reducing tow capacity.

I love the way my truck rides.
