    68RFE Torque Converter Lockup?

    I’m running a tuned SC stage 3 68RFE.

I relearned it, and everything is great except the TC lockup.

I get a slight bump (it feels like a strong shift) when the converter locks in 3rd if I am driving and doing more than putting around.

It happens in 3rd around 30mph.

Is this normal for a tuned 68RFE, or should I have the tuner remove the 3rd gear lockup?

I have a Stage IV ATS Diesel Billet 68RFE with their 5-star converter, which does the same thing.

It has about 30k miles on it.

I thought I was going crazy, did a relearn a few times, and had them send me a whole new the same thing.

If I take off under 20mph, everything is smooth as butter. However, if I slow down above 20mph and then reaccelerate, I get that same punch forward you're probably experiencing.

If I give it juice (anything over 50% throttle), it doesn't do it, only if Im accelerating slowly.

I just got used to which RPM's the trans likes and figured it's normal.

Depends on the converter etc., and trans tuning.

Stock converter applies PWM; the ECM can gradually use it.

Alot of tuners dont; they do on/off so if you have a non-dampened clutch in the converter, it's violent.

    A 5-disc is also more aggressive than a 3-disc.
