There’s not a really good way to diag it.

I guess they can check cvi data on cold start then drive it and see if it changes.

I haven’t done this so I can’t tell you how much it changes.

When I get them I check cvi to to see if it’s with in range of it is and it’s having a shifting concern that a quick learn doesn’t take care of the shifting concern or if the cvi is out of range I pull the unit and tear it down.

As for the dealership issue all I’ll say is I've worked at a Dodge dealership for 15 yrs or so.

    I don’t work for Dodge.

I’m there to make money and Dodge doesn’t pay the dealership to deny warranty and they don’t train anyone at the dealership level as to what constitutes warranty denial.

I’m sure there’s other dealerships/dealer techs that view it how I do.

Hopefully there’s one in your area.

I guess it would be worth a shot to see.

I brought it in for the same problem when it was brand new, no delete.

They just did a relearn, and it was good for a while until I tuned it.

I never went back and got discouraged because they told me the trans tech was 12 weeks backed up, that I'd have to leave my truck there for those 12 weeks, then they would look at it and repair it from there.

I was ok with that and asked for a loaner.

They didn't have one, not even a beat-up neon.

I asked for a rental. Ram cares said they'd be able to do 12 days.

I was so frustrated with the process and with the fact I'd had multiple EGR codes.

One of the techs even told me I should delete it.

    Thanks for your help!

I have some recalls that need taken care of, and I'll see what they say.

If it's 12 weeks again, maybe I'll bite the bullet.

I have a second truck now.
