For all you guys that “can’t stand how 68RFEs shift,” here you go.
Wp developments figured out how to make a full manual valve body for the 68RFE.

This is seriously bad ***
Glad someone came up with something like this.
Curious about what the holdup was on the research for the 68.
My ole chevy had the B&M slap shift; I missed that manual shifter.
II 60HP STICKS, II 33% CP3, II S464 2ND GEN SWAP, FASS 165 TITANIUM SIGNATURE SERIES, AFE INTAKE HORN, S&B FILTER, 5" TURBO BACK, ALPHAREX HEAD LIGHTS, 38X13.5X20 RAZOR M/T, MOTO METAL RIMS, 6" LA LIFT KIT, COMPLET MM3 KIT, BUILT TRANSMISSION, 6 BOLT REDHEAD STEERING BOX
Cope racing transmissions attempted it a while back; he figured out it could be done but, for whatever reason, didn’t pursue it much after that.
Completely redesigning the fluid passages in the channel plate has to be time-consuming and expensive.
I can’t wait to get my hands on one.

Assuming this confirms that it's been done but still has errors and trials.
Or is this already on the market?
I went through 3 pages on Google, and nothing has come up.
This is seriously a great find, man.

Not on the market yet.
He just released the video that it works 30mins ago.
I talked to him a while back about some things leading up to this.
He said he would first sell it in his builds to quality control it before he sells the parts.

More importantly, it makes it a 4-speed.
It combines the weak OD clutches to make one stronger gear.
I have always wondered if you could make the weak 6-speed a strong 4 or 5-speed, and they figured it out now.
I think this is just the beginning of a better 68RFE.
Addressing the weak baby OD clutches is the answer.
The only problem for some of us is that WP is more EZ/EFI based, but sure, they will work with you.
It doesn’t address the OD or UD clutch’s 5th being removed because the 4C clutches are the smallest clutch pack in the transmission.
In 5th OD and 4C, clutches are both applied.
Removing 5th may also be easier on parts with the locking shift ability.
OD and UD clutch issues have been fixed for a while; it’s just a matter of adding more clutches to the drums.
I like that they got rid of the SSV In the valve body.
That valve is where most overdrive failures stem from.
I don’t think tuning will be needed with it.
FMVB should make it standalone.
It should still read speed sensors just fine.
The only thing that comes to mind is the PRNDL might not work.
I ordered two of them and can’t wait to try them out.

They said it would be ready for sale this week, and I should see the first ones in a few weeks.
It fires a shot to 48 swap guys since most factory parameters, monitors, and functions of 68 are intact.
From what I read from them, burnouts are no problem which says it all in their confidence.
6th ratio is now 4th, and LR is only used in reverse.
I do not know details other than what is available to read.
It seems they put some significant hours into making this happen for guys who like to put the beat-down to the ground.
This seems like the first thing to make me consider keeping a 68 in the truck.
True tuning is not needed with a full manual.
I asked them about my trans, and that was their preferred tuning.
There was a post with more details of the inner workings, but I do not see it now.
Following!!!
Because if this is the case, I will be the closest to a G56 setup again.
I kick myself in the *** whenever I drive my 18 with the 68RFE.
