    Gears For 37 Inch Tires?

I have never done them or know of them other than in, Yukons.

I am running 37s and debating on throwing front\rear gears to help alleviate strains on the trans.

Any recommendations and brands to start researching?

@DDP you guys have my business; I'll be coming to you.

    Thanks!

I am looking at 4.10s, and I am running 38s, looking to move up to the '40s, but I am also planning some additional HP options to boost the power.

I am running stock 3.42's now.

    Gears For 37 Inch Tires?

    4.10 or 4.30.

I’m running 4.56, and it puts me at 2k rpm at 75mph.

    I wish I had gone at 4.30.

I mainly install nitro gears and never had a noisy set.

    @Chrisn162001

Are you running bigger tires as well?

I'll look into the Nitro gears.

Realistically, 4.30 gives a lower rpm at highway speeds.

Probably run different covers when I throw the gears in.

    Thanks for the input, fellas.

I had 4.10s in my 76 Chevy, but she was rapped out sounding at highway speeds with a basic tire size.

    Yes, I’m running 37s.

On the rear diff cover, make sure you get the right one.

Nitro gear sets use the 11.8 style ring and pinion with conversion bearings on 4.30 and numerically higher ratios.

If you get the 11.8 style ring and pinion, the 11.5 diff cover won’t clear the ring gear well; at least the Maghytec diff cover won’t.

    Appreciate the help.

I'll have to confirm what diff cover they suggest that can clear.

I'll probably run the 4.30s if it may save a little more diesel at highway speeds.

I am running AAM 4.44 gears on Toyo RT 37s.

    Just under 2k RPM @ 75 mph.

Re: Gears For 37 Inch Tires?

    Gears are very subjective.

We ask what gears are best for a given tire size, going from what the factory designated with the stock tire.

Perhaps that gearing was wrong in the first place for your use, so carrying the same traits to a bigger tire will not give you what you want.

Factory gearing is an all-around in-middle compromise for many reasons for many users while siding on mpg numbers.

Factors like local terrain(significant long grades you can get a run at or are there many stop-and-go conditions as small hillside cities have), towing intentions, and empty driving habits (are you 70-85 in the fast lane or a 55-75 type?)

So for 37s, you could be just as happy or miserable with 4.10,4.30, or 4.56.

That is why many recommend 4.30 because it is more rounded.

Driving hard and playing 4.56 will help transmission and u-joints live better, along with the truck accelerating faster.

If not equipped, a limited-slip may be a good move while installing gears.

4.10 will put you closest to stock or a bit ahead on 37's.

4.30 or 4.56 give you more grunt and highway rpm above that - just depends on your uses, hauling, etc, pavement princess?

    4.10's would be my choice.
