    Exhaust Brake Issue After Delete?

2010 RAM 3500; after deleting my truck, my exhaust brake won’t work while traveling, but when I’m at a stop or first starting, my truck warms up.

If I turn it on, it will make my exhaust have that whistle sound to it, and it speeds up the warm-up process but then will go away when I turn it off.

Any ideas why it wouldn’t be working while traveling, though?

Make sure your exhaust pressure sensor is connected and still plugged in.

Do you have any trouble codes?

No codes even tried using my buddy's Snap-on scanner to see if anything was happening.

It seems to me the actuator is still working since I can turn it in during warm-up, but not working during travel is throwing me off.

On my 2016, when my actuator started going out, I could turn on my exhaust brake for a warm-up, and it would work fine.

Once I started to travel down the road, the exhaust brake would stop working, and I would get a code that would show up on the MM3 but not on the dash as a CEL, that is, until right before the actuator went out completely.

Then it would cause a CEL on the dash and the MM3.

This may not be true in your case, but I thought I would share that information with you.

    Who did your tuning?

If it was working before you deleted it, it could be a tuning issue.

Assuming you have an automatic trans.

The exhaust brake won't work under motion unless the torque converter is locked.

Maybe do a data log of the torque converter state while driving.

Sounds similar to what mine did when the actuator went out, but I had codes.

I've heard iffy things about GDP tuning.

It is going to be the tune or the actuator.

It may be in the early stages before failure and not throwing a code yet.

The best bet is to hook up a scan tool and look at the Actual vs. Desired.

If there's a good, deviated number from the two, more likely it's time for a new Actuator.

If the numbers are similar, it's probably the tune you have for the revision needed for weight loss.
