Well, I made it to 119,600, and it's in the trans shop, LOL.

My first one made it to 124k before letting go.

I would say you got as far as you could with mileage if it's a 68RFE.

It sucks, but it's rewarding and comforting when she's fixed up again.

I was one of the lucky ones with a manufacturing defect, and the first trans let go at 30K all factory.

Fortunately, it was covered by warranty.

I wish RAM would hook up with Allison transmissions.

I drove a moving truck with a Cummins and an Allison transmission way overloaded through the mountains, and I don't know how it didn't blow up with the beating I gave it.

I replaced my 68RFE last week after going a whopping 66,000 miles on my 2012.

The truck had factory 31" tires / 17" wheels on it until about 15,000 miles ago when I put 30hp and 295/60/the 20s onto it.

I just switched to 295/65/20s, and it was all it could take...LOL.

The truck has 3.73 gears, and I drove it very responsibly.

The 68RFE is only good for bone stock configuration, and any deviation from that will generate many problems.

Some get lucky, and others don't, but it is a matter of time.

It is the weakest link in these trucks and is a ticking time bomb in stock form with any added power / larger tires/wheels.

    Just my two cents.

I see ATS has figured out a way to make an Allison an easy swap.

Insurance is paying for this trans, or else that is what I would do.
