Service 4WD - Logs Code C1400?

Have a 2017 RAM 3500 DRW with Aisin.

The truck engages into 4WD as it should, but when selecting back to 2WD, it doesn’t wholly function and says service 4wd.

The truck throws the C1400 code after.

When cycling the key, the code goes away and shifts back to 2WD with no problem.

Any suggestions would be great; thanks.

See attached troubleshooting information on C1400.

Besides checking the transfer case wiring and switch, you will need a scan tool capable of reading trouble codes in the body control and ABS modules.
