What To Do First? - 2016 RAM 3500 6.7L Cummins

    Already tuned by the Doctor!

So what will be the first steps?

    Revmax valve body and pan?

    Aluminum radiator and intercooler?

Carli 3" pin Top with Kings + some Carli extras?

FASS 165, Rear diff cover Banks?

    Monster RAM and boost tubes?

    2nd Gen swap or compounds?

Head studs, springs, and push tubes?

That is an excellent question that will yield a lot of different opinions.

I think the most critical upgrades are suspension, brakes, transmission, and tuning.

They also provide the most significant changes. Again my two cents. I don't feel making any power additions other than tuning on a stock trans is worth it.

A built trans is the best, and I would hands down do trans upgrades before anything else. People might have other opinions on the order of things.

Overall, the suspension is the first thing I'd do. It's the first thing I did on my truck as well.

I can talk for hours about why spending the big bucks there is more than worth it.

They drive so nicely set up, right?

One thing you didn't list and is a must for me is brake pads and rotors.

Go to Brake Performance https://brakeperformance.com/?gclid=...SAAEgLTZ_D_BwE and get the performance pads and slotted/dimple drilled rotors.

I'm telling you there is not a better upgrade to buy. HUGE difference in stopping power.

I have been using them for over ten years.

I had them on my 3rd Gen and my current truck, and they never warped one yet.

Mega cab dully is super cool.

The first step will be to keep that hot ash can far away from this truck.

It's hard to believe, but I could reuse my MM3 out of that truck and bought a new wiring harness.

I started with a tune from the "Dr." That little monitoring device pointed out a few other issues, like leaking in the valve body while towing my 5th wheel.

I did a bunch simultaneously and would probably not reverse much.

This is my list of stuff and the order I did it:

    1. Tune w/HP levels
    2. Thuren .5 lift, Thuren sway, Thuren tuned Fox shocks with res
    3. Synergy Steering, Thuren stabilizer
    4. StopTech slotted front and rear rotors and EBC Orange stuff pads
    5. Deep alum trans pan, REVMAX billet VB, and billet thermostatic bypass (w/new tune)
    6. ARP space age head studs (So I could finally turn it up)
    7. 4.10 gears front and rear with Icon 4k rated rims and Michelin 295/70r18 tires

I love my truck and only wish it was a dually.

My Truck: 2016 Ram 3500 Laramie, granite crystal metallic/tan interior, CCLB SRW 4x4, 68RFE, 6.7 Cummins, rear air, 5th wheel pkg. MODS: MM3 w/tunes, EGR delete, ITC grid heater delete, GDP airhorn, GDP heater, ARP 625 head studs, FloPro 5", REVMAX billet VB, Synergy steering, Thuren .5" lift/sway, Fox remote res shocks, Morimoto HIDs and LED fogs.
My 5th Wheel: 2022 Grand Design 390 RK, 3 ACs, Gen Prep, too much storage ~16,000 rolling.
