My truck sets a lot; I dont get used much except to towing the trailer to the cabin property about four times a year (enclosed trailer with construction gear), so it sets all winter so that the battery can get weak.
So last weekend, I installed a Nuco 2 amp battery charger maintainer, desulphated, and it even compensated for ambient temp difference.
This is mounted under the hood, right next to the TIPM module; I tied it into the power source feeding the TIPM unit, got a small black extension cord, and ran it right next to my block heater plug.
So now I keep it plugged in.
On a side note, I am a ham radio operator and have other brands, i.e., battery tender, Yuasa, etc.
They create "noise on my HF radio, especially in maintain mode; I hear and see it toggle on and off on the spectrum scope.
Well, this unit is as quiet as a mouse.
Not my install, just a generic picture. But this is the exact unit.
Clip it into the holder with a velcro strap to it's easy to get out of the way.
