Post Water In Fuel Light After Programmed With MM3 Tuner

    I have a 2010 RAM 2500 with 6.7L Cummins.

I don't know if this is just a coincidence, but the fuel filter has recently been changed, and it just seems unusual that this code popped up as soon as I programmed it.

Anyhow, plan to change the filter, do not know what else I can do; draining fluid in the filter did not help.

The light comes and goes and is on more often than it is off, though.

    Any thoughts or suggestions?

    Thanks

I wouldn’t think the MM3 had anything to do with the WIF light.

Does anybody else know the answer on a 2010?

If you are sure there isn’t any water in the fuel, I will suspect the water in the fuel sensor or a possible connector/wiring issue.

I haven’t tried this, but I would start by disconnecting the sensor; if the trouble goes away, then at least you know the wiring from the PCM to one side of the connector is good.

You could also check across each side of the plug, going to the sensor with an OHM meter and looking for continuity.

A good circuit will be open.

Also, try to clean the contacts on the sensor while you are changing out the fuel filter.

They can get gummed up sometimes.
