    Amsoil Bypass Oil Filter?

Has anyone run one of these kits?

Curious to see if they make enough of a difference for the price.

    Re: Amsoil Bypass Oil Filter?

I run the Amsoil EABP90 bypass oil filter.

I noticed a big difference in the oil color; it doesn’t turn black between changes.

Before installation, my oil would turn black in less than a month.

I change my oil (Rotella T6) every 10,000 or twelve months.

The bypass filter gives me peace of mind and allows for extended oil change intervals.

I put one on my '09 at about 20k miles.

It now has 345k miles, and the engine has never been touched; that is proof enough for me.

Which reminds me, gotta get one for my 2020.

    Re: Amsoil Bypass Oil Filter?

OP, I've run one since my EGR fell off at 78k.

I hit 165k a week ago and have had zero problems.

IMHO it's worth the investment only if you're deleted and want to run extended oil changes, but you need to have the oil tested periodically.

The standard oil change interval for a 6.7 Cummins is 15k.

I just received my Blackstone Labs report on a sample with 33.5k on it.

The last complete oil change was over three years ago.

I change the flow filter every 7500 miles and add a quart of Amsoil Signature Series 15W40.

I did change the bypass filter at the two year point and topped it off.

I use the same as AKBob.

I feel it is a worthwhile investment.

Better filtration is usually Always better.

Frantz kits are fantastic, too, I hear.

    Re: Amsoil Bypass Oil Filter?

To clarify what I meant by “extended oil change intervals” in my last post.

My annual oil change exceeded the manufacturer’s recommended six months or 500 hours.

Quote from RAM Owners Manual: ** Under no circumstances should oil change intervals exceed 15,000 miles (24 000 km) or six months or 500 Hours, whichever comes first.

I agree that oil analysis is a great idea when extending the interval beyond 15,000 miles or one year, with or without a bypass filter.

@AK Bob True, but I'm willing to bet the manual also says not to defeat your emissions either.
