Can I Turn On Factory Alarm Using My MM3?

My 2018 has the factory alarm disabled.

(Everything is installed on the truck from the factory, just not activated thru a sales code or whatever it’s called.)

To activate it, I need to ground a hood latch wire, put different rubber buttons in my remote, and then use AlphaOBD or J-link.

Can I use my MM3 to activate it instead of buying the j-link app, dongle, and gateway module cable?

No the MM3 cannot enable sales codes.

What trim do you have?

Mine is a BigHorn, and all I did was enable it through Alfa; there was no need for the fob button or hood latch wire.

Now the alarm sets automatically and only goes off if the doors are unlocked and/or opened without using the fob to unlock.

I have a Tradesman.

I don’t have the 2x to start on my remotes or any wires going to the hood latch.

To update for future people.

I bought a $20 OBD II dongle, a $14 cable, and a $20 J-Scan app, paid a dude $55 for a hood pin switch and remote buttons, and activated the factory remote start.

Works flawlessly.

It took about 1.5 hours to do it all and about $105.
