    MM3 Or ECM Issues?

I was leaving work yesterday and noticed my MM3 would freeze every few seconds before updating the information displayed; then, the RPM gauge on the screen maxed out for a second and flashed odd numbers in the current gear display.

I have reinitialized the SD card and have the current firmware.

I tried unplugging it from the ODB port. It will work fine for about 30sec after clearing the max values but then flakes out again.

Three days before this issue started, I installed the banks monster ram. My truck is also entirely deleted. The truck seems to be running just fine, I checked under the hood, and all electrical connections seem okay.

    Any help would be great!

I would suspect the three-prong J1939 data link cable.

Check for loose or poor connection under the hood, under the dash, and any signs of wire damage.

If no issues are found, call or email MM3 Power for advice on Monday if no problems are found.

I spoke with MM3 support; they said that this is a new issue.

I was told to try a new SD card.

Unfortunately, I still have the same problem after getting a new SD card.

I will call them back after Thanksgiving and see the option to try.

I don't think this is related, but the 12" Unconnect update now makes it restart every 30 to 60 minutes.

Did MM3 Power recommend an SD card capacity size?

There used to be a maximum capacity that the MM3 could handle.

It was recommended not to exceed 32GB max, but I could be wrong.

Both of mine are 4GB, and different tuners supply both.

They still have a maximum, but I can't recall the max size.

Once I talk to MM3 support again, I will give another update.

I would also call them, as it seems to be a new issue.

Have a great Thanksgiving as well.

    Re: MM3 Or ECM Issues?

So quick update: I've been pretty tied up with hunting and work, but I finally got with MM3.

It sounds like this is a new issue that has risen lately in a handful of units; he said it has been in the 2021s, but mine is the second 2019 it has come up in.

He had me send him some data logs, return the truck to stock software (still glitching), change PIDs, etc.

I got everything sent to him this afternoon, and I know the engineers will have to look at it, so I expect to hear something next week.

I will update you as I know more.
