    Surging Issues - Not Typical Cold Start - In Gear When Warm

    Check the exhaust pressure sensor and tube for soot restriction.

    2014 RAM 3500 (Aisin) 3.73 4X4 Limited Crew Cab Long Bed DRW. Oil Bypass Filter, Fuel Filtration Kit, Cold Air Intake, City Diesel Actuator and 50 Gallon Aux Fuel Tank.

    Thank you, guys, for the quick reply.

    I will start with the free suggestion, and then that actuator is not too expensive to try next.

    There is no pressure on the low side when the truck is off, right?

    I can pop that thing out, correct?

    Correct, there is no pressure on the exhaust pressure sensor with the engine off.

    Since the fuel rail pressure is commanded high and low when surging, I would start with that.

    If there is no blockage, it could be a bad sensor.

    You could also try the free WD40 test on the FCA to see if it’s sticking.
