I sure hope mine last longer than three years. LOL

I am looking forward to hearing about their decision.

Okay, final update, I spoke with Batteries Plus a few minutes ago, and they refunded the total cost of the new batteries, $703.98.

They said they could not fully charge either battery, and the static voltage after charging dropped to 12.1 volts after sitting for a day.

They suspected a bad cell in each battery.

I asked about the warranty on the two new batteries, and they said they are only warranted until the original warranty expires.

So I have approximately six months left.

One thing I should mention here is that when I installed the original batteries, I did not allow the Intelligent Battery sensor to relearn by disconnecting both simultaneously.

This error on my part may have caused the batteries to be overcharged.

Glad to hear they refunded you fully, Bob.

Well, I guess I spoke too soon about battery issues @AK Bob

Friday, it was -1 outside, and the battery saver mode came on, and my voltage fluctuated from 14.6 to 11.3 and back several times for about 3-4 minutes and then went to 14.6 and stayed there.

The truck was at operating temps, and I ran into the store for a few minutes when I went to start it to head home; that’s when the saver mode kicked in.

I’ve noticed that my AGM batteries have been sluggish for the past month.

Guess when it warms back up, I’ll run it by where I purchased the batteries and have them tested.

I’ve only had them in for about three years now.

Sorry to hear you are having issues with your batteries also.

We both have the same brand, and hopefully, we will get more than just over three years of service for their price.

Please post an update after you have them tested.

They told me the warranty on the new replacement batteries was only good until the original warranty ran out.

This time I removed both old batteries before installing the new ones to allow the Intelligent Battery Sensor to re-learn.

Re: Cold Start With Low Battery Issues?

I've had the battery saver come on briefly this winter several times.

Replaced OEM batteries this past summer with NAPA Legend AGM's.

These are from East Penn-DEKA Intimidator batteries.

I never had a battery saver come on with the OEM batteries.

I was not using a trickle charger with the OEM batteries.

    I'm in SE, MI.

    Just an observation.

    Maybe it's the AGM's?

Hopefully, it will be in a couple of weeks, and I can get them checked out.

This saver mode is the first time I’ve seen it come on with this truck.

    You could be onto something.

Maybe these AGM batteries don’t do as well with extremely low temps?
