Hello Everyone - 17 RAM CCLB - G56 - Just Made It Out Of Commiefornia

    Hi Everyone,

I am following the instructions to introduce myself! Jonathan here.

I just made it out of Commiefornia after being stuck there for too long, but the Wife finally gave up after the Covidians took the state over, and now I'm back in America.

Its been freedom and guns ever since and I started immediately trying to find how to get rid of all the power-robbing and reliability-killing components on my truck.

Needless to say, I'm a day late and a dollar short, as the diesel aftermarket seems to have dried up.

I have been doing research online to try source parts (sketchy Canadian websites, etc.), and DRD was mentioned, which took me down the rabbit hole here.

I'm hoping now that I bought a membership, emailed/chatted DRD, and I'm ready to buy an entire enchilada, someone can point me in the right direction to source a full tune/delete on my truck.

I have a 2017 CCLB, with G56, leveled on Gold Methods and 35's.

The only thing done to her so far was to install a Valair Twin Disc with upgraded hydraulics and hook up a Stealth module to her while it was in Commiefornia so I could quickly remove it for Smog inspections.

It is my dream truck; I found it in Bellingham, WA, flew up to buy it, drove it back down, and then she got the family and me across the country.

My goal (if possible) is a tune/delete for towing/power, but because it is the family hauler, I'm hoping to delete it with a muffler to keep the noise/droning down.

Any help or recommendations are greatly appreciated!

Welcome back to the land of the free Johnathan!!

Glad to have you here, friend and fellow G56r.

How do you like that clutch setup, and does it rattle like the other dual disk setups?

    Hi Watersupply,

    Thanks!

The clutch does rattle some when in neutral and the clutch is disengaged.

I overfilled the trans 1 qt along with using the recommended Delvac 50 and I have had several guys "who know" these trucks compliment it for being "quieter than most" but its still there.

Also I see gear rollover noise under ~1200RPM in any gear but I think its "Quieter than most" because I followed Valairs instructions to a T and also got their "Quiet Dual Disk" kit #QG56DDSN-ORG.

I've been very happy with the holding power so far. (Holding capacity > noise IMHO) With the Stealth module on its high (~80HP) setting and pulling about 10k with my 35's across the country it never gave me any trouble.

Only thing I wish I could eventually figure out (but I'm told is very common with dual disks) is a very "High" pedal engage/disengagement.

That would require taking everything back apart and measuring everything out to shim it, and honestly its just not worth it to me at this point.

Maybe if I ever have to replace it I'll make sure to shim it out so the pedal will engage at lower to medium levels which is where I prefer it.
