Drove the truck today and did about a 20mi trip on the highway.

Normal driving conditions and she was dry when I got home.

Hoping to retorque the head studs, the thermostat, and the radiator cap solved my issues.

I did stay below 2200 rpm, so I dont think i created a high boost condition.

Hopefully, the head doesn't have to come back off.

You should be good to go with a new head, head gasket, and ARP studs.

Regarding the head studs, torque is the measure we use to set the fastener's clamping force.

However, that isn't a direct correlation to clamping force.

100 ft/lbs of torque on a bolt will not yield the same clamping force as 100 ft/lbs of torque on a nut/stud.

Going to the ARP studs properly lubed and torqued will yield a significantly greater clamping force than the stock head bolts.

If you still have a head gasket problem, there is a warp somewhere on the block or head.

I always check both (even if new) before installing them.

Tuning is also a significant factor in lifting heads.

I hope everything is working for you as intended.

    Good luck.
