So I purchased a 2016 RAM 5500 a couple of years back, a former plumbing truck with a cube on it.
A couple of months after, I got the code for the active air.
I had it scanned, and it showed a short to ground and had it inspected and the wiring to find nothing.
I swapped it out with my brother's airbox in his 4500 and got the same code.
Shortly after, I got the dreaded lightning bolt which doesn't affect driving until it starts flashing.
I took the truck to Plateau Diesel for $1000 later, and with the gas, the pedal light came back on in 10 min.
I took it back, and they said they were out of ideas.
"Note to self" never go there again.
So I went for the C&C delete.
It runs better unless the lightning bolt flashes.
Then a few months back, it felt like I dropped a cylinder.
Lots of white smoke and I parked the truck for a few months and then replaced the injectors.
No change except that I have minimal throttle and a tiny boost.
I love the truck minus the trans-shifting, but I'm done with it.
My 18 3500 never had any of this crap.
I'm dropping it at a local guys' shop today that does only RAM in hopes that I can get it running again.
Here's a list of the items Ive done to try and combat this thing.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
