    Re: Inaccurate Boost Number Issues?

I tested it all and replaced it with a new OEM sensor.

    I cannot find anything wrong.

I have started to monitor more closely and can say that engine load seems to cause it not to RPM, and I have to get it completely unloaded for a few seconds to reset and read properly.

I'm not sure what, if any, harm it could be causing.

Open to any suggestions as to what to potentially monitor to see if I can find the culprit.

I leave in a little over a week for a road trip towing my big 5th wheel.

It'll be empty but still heavy, so as many things to look for in the coming days would be great.

    Thanks.

Maybe unhook the analog system to see what things do.

Then hook it back up, ensuring everything is correct without bends or twisted items anywhere.

Yeah, analog stuff is all good; the issue is the computer reading it low and trying to build a boost by closing the VGT.

I monitored the boost sensor voltage with my scanner.

Voltage tells me the sensor is reading accurately and is not causing the issue.

It's definitely in the interpretation somehow.

    I think I've found a P0472 code.

Not sure if that one should be there as part of the deletes or not.

    Strangely the sensor is removed.

I might try to find and reinstall the exhaust pressure sensor and see if anything changes, as I'm at a loss for ideas.

In 2014 and up with tuning, the exhaust back pressure sensor can be removed.

However, the circuit is still intact and communicating with the PCM.

The trouble code should not be present. See attached information on troubleshooting this code.

    Re: Inaccurate Boost Number Issues?

I thoroughly tested it and can't find anything wrong. I put the exhaust pressure sensor back in.

The boost reading is still acting the same, but the VGT seems to be responding to that sensor and won't close up past 33% when under load, so it feels much safer.

I will say I got back the auto warm-up feature putting the sensor back in.

Before, I could only get the exhaust brake to engage on warm-up was to putting the truck at high idle manually.
