Traction Bars - 2017 RAM 2500

Hello all!

I might get some diss for this, but I’m looking to get a set of traction bars.

I don’t tow or have a high-hp truck, but I like how they look!

I’ve had them on all my previous trucks with rear leaf springs.

The only thing is, I don’t know if they will work with the rear coils.

RAM uses on their new models.

I have a 2017 RAM 2500, I’ve asked a few places if bars work with that setup, and I’ve gotten no response.

Is there anyone that could help me out?

Hi Zach,

Summary: 2500s have a parallel four-link with Panhard or track bar.

The design allows each component to do a single job instead of multiple.

For example, the parallel control arm locates the axle front to rear, while the Panhard bar locates it from side to side.

Adding a set of lower control arms would require either have to remove the upper control arms or having a bound suspension.

I have used traction bars in the past on leaf springs to help with spring wrap and, from experience, would recommend not installing them or using Caltracs as they do not induce bind.

I know you stated this would be for the looks, but if a practical need exists, there is a third member shock option that you can get.

I got one through @Geno's Garage.
