Looking at buying a 99 dodge ram with 191,333 miles on it has a new vp44 injection pump and new lift pump. 5speed manual 24v. Hes not sure what block it is. Should I have concerns? Hes asking 5000 for the truck. This is going to be my first cummins. Any help would be nice thanks.

Body is perfect matching tires in good shape. Goose neck setup. Pulled horse trailer locally. Florida truck.

It's more than likely the 53 block. 96-01 they used the 53 block

If it's all stock you'd be fine. My brother has a 98.5 with 297k on it and no problem.
Well my plan is to put exhaust and maybe let it get more air. Anything that could better the fuel economy. Not planning on dragracing it. Just pull a boat and haul stuff. I just love the sound of those manuals.
You'd be fine then. It's once you start pushing the power out you run the risk of cracking the block
