Tesla Style Radio Shows Miles Kilometers?

The factory radio sets the cars' units from imperial to metric.

Still, my new Tesla-style radio does not let me change the units, and the instrument panel has all the units except the MPH in metric units instead of imperial.

The PHM can be changed on the steering wheel, but the rest are through the radio.

    Why would they do that?

Does anyone know if this can be changed via the OBD2 port with a computer?
